I was born in September 2008. My maker, Cynthia (Cindy) Crawford, was asked to create something out of a discarded book- a recycle project of sorts. Cindy is known to be especially fond of pigs, and can sometimes be seen hanging over fences talking piggle with various local porcine residents. Well, her book was about flowers, but that did not stop her from thinking pig. So the text of the book was wadded up into some sort of rotund shape and taped together in a crude fashion with wire for a tail and screen for ears. Thus began my creation, as a lumpish sort of thing. Then came the lengthy process of tearing up more strips of text and pasting them on the lump to form something more resembling my current self. Some of the flower pictures then began to appear as my eyes, nose, ear linings and back saddle. Over that went crumpled pink tissue, some brown for my feet, and finally a nice coat of varnish. I am rather pleased with myself, but longing for a permanent home where I will, I hope , be given all you spare compost to continue in the spirit of recycling. Oinkerly yours,
